Product Specialist

 
 Summary
The Product Specialist provides technical expertise and contributes to the introduction, maintenance and review of products including but not limited to formulas, recipes, processes, customer specifications, and samples. Reporting to the QA Manager, this individual is an active participant of new products beginning at concept through successful commercialization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally by managing the product life cycle from introduction to commercialization.
  • Develop and maintain timelines, follow-up, and assist in the execution of product development and execution where needed.
  • Create, update and maintain exact records of all product formulas and processes within ERP and Quality system.
  • Assist in plant activities, which may include trials and validation of new production equipment and customer samples, modifying procedures and recording forms based on equipment or material changes, performing quality checks, etc.
  • Assist in the execution of customer products and surveys.
  • Work with Quality Department for product and ingredient analysis.
  • Coordinate product development in the creation and execution of internal specifications.
Skills/Knowledge
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledgeable in ingredient selection, formulation, processing equipment, and operating conditions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical project milestones
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management (or related field)

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a product specialist
