Accounts Payable

Position Type: Full Time
Shift: First
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
 
Summary 
Compiles and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties.
 
Duties, Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Checks and approves all vouchers for payment
  • Prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary
  • Audits freight bills against freight manifests
  • Answers all vendor inquiries
  • Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted
  • Prepares accounts payable checks
  • Processes all expense reports
  • Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required
  • Assists in monthly closings
  • Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record as per company standards
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
Education and/or Experience                                                  
  • High School Diploma, GED (or equivalent), Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
